Meet Billy! Billy is a 3 year old Boston boy who weighs 25 lbs. Billy was turned in to the shelter by his owner. At that time Billy?s owner told the shelter that Billy was scared of strangers ? which makes the shelter the last place Billy?should be left alone by the person he trusted to take care of him! Billy did get a bit growly with some of the shelter staff so they asked us to take him away from an environment that was not a good one for him. Once our volunteer walked out the shelter doors with Billy she could see him take a big deep breath and then a huge sigh (of relief?). Billy was more than happy to hop in the car. He was still a bit hesitant about our volunteer ? but a stop at McDonalds for a cheeseburger had him eating out of her hand (very gently and respectfully too) and then he wanted to sit in her lap and give her kisses. Billy checked out great at the vet, other than he had a scleral hemorrhage in his left eye that he came to the shelter with. Billy is currently on eye meds for his eye. Billy is still a bit shy at first with new people ? but that changes after a few minutes if you just give him a chance to warm up to you. Billy is doing well with the other dogs in foster care. Billy needs a home that will take it a bit slow with him, one that will take some time to let him get to know them. Once Billy knows you he will seek out your attention and love.
